Winchester Center Adds MindEdge’s “Coaching Employees” and “Understanding Compensation” Courses

The Winchester Center for Management Development is adding two online MindEdge courses: one focused on improving the coaching skills of managers, and another designed to cover the key compensation issues in the workplace.
Through the use of selected readings, video, Internet interactivity, and simulations, these courses highlight the latest management thinking in an engaging and structured manner. The Winchester Center for Management Development provides an online forum for courses in business, management, leadership, and communications.
MindEdge’s “Understanding Human Resources: Compensation” course considers the many issues surrounding the key aspects of compensation policy: legal requirements, pay equity within an organization, competitive pay within the relevant industry, how and when to grant raises, and different ways compensation can be structured. The course is based on Harvard Business School professor D. Quinn Mills’ book, Principles of Human Resource Management.
“The Successful Manager: Coaching Employees” course (added to Winchester Center in mid-November) focuses on the skills and techniques of positive coaching in an organizational setting, including active listening, observing and providing constructive feedback, reinforcing positive employee performance through recognition and praise, and teaching new skills.
