A new online offering from MindEdge, the Allerton Connector Project Management Simulation, puts project managers in the hot seat as they try to keep a complex highway project on time and on budget.
This simulation asks learners to make a series of crucial decisions using project management knowledge and skills as they guide all stages of a major (fictional) highway construction project, the Allerton Connector. At each decision point learners download supporting project documentation and answer fact-check questions.
Expert commentary from practicing project management professionals helps clarify key issues and an adaptive scoreboard scores the learner’s decisions based on PMBOK® Guide knowledge areas. Learners will find their knowledge of project management deepened and their team leadership skills enhanced.
The simulation addresses a number of issues. What are best practices for managing complex projects? How can a project manager effectively manage scope and schedule issues? What about dealing with multiple stakeholders? What communication issues arise in a publicly-funded project? What tradeoffs are necessary in guiding the project to a successful conclusion.
Learners who successfully complete the course will earn 12 Professional Development Units (PDUs) accepted by the Project Management Institute. MindEdge is an authorized PMI Global Registered Education Provider.
