MindEdge Adds Cybersecurity Courses

November 18, 2016

MindEdge Learning has added more courses to its online cybersecurity offerings, including a CISSP® Exam Prep Course
and six Cybersecurity Scenario courses that challenge learners with real-world case studies.

Cybersecurity, also known as Information Security, is the protection of data and personally identifiable information
from malicious attacks, theft, and destruction. Failures of cybersecurity policies, both in large corporations and
governmental agencies, have earned significant visibility and negative publicity in recent months and years. As the amount
of data being stored continues to increase, and as hackers become more sophisticated, the need for cybersecurity is greater
than ever.

These courses are available on MindEdge Online and through selected training partners and institutions of higher education.

The CISSP® Exam Prep Course prepares test-takers for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional exam,
as administered by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2. The CISSP® certification
is recognized worldwide and adheres to the strict standards of ISO/IEC 17024. As security breaches outpace the available
pool of security experts, the need for information security professionals with proper certifications will continue to grow.
Among other titles, obtaining the CISSP® certification prepares one for a position as a Security Analyst, Chief Information
Security Officer, or as a Security Architect.

The course contains two 120-question practice exams, which cover The International Information System Security
Certification Consortium’s eight domains: Asset Security; Communications and Network Security; Identity and Access
Management; Security and Risk Management; Security Assessment and Testing; Security Engineering; Security Operations;
and Software Development Security.

The Cybersecurity Scenario courses employ interactive and integrative exercises to help learners address critical
issues they may face in information security.

Courses include:

  • Access Control and Identity Management Scenarios
  • Application, Data, and Host Security Scenarios
  • Compliance and Operational Security Scenarios
  • Cryptography Scenarios
  • Network Security Scenarios
  • Threats and Vulnerabilities Scenarios

Successful completion of any Cybersecurity course earns learners a MindEdge badge. This symbol of achievement,
aligned with Mozilla Open Badges, can be stored in a learner’s Mozilla Backpack for sharing across career sites,
social networks, and personal portfolios. More information on Open Badges can be found at
